Charlotte City Council approved the settlement in a vote Tuesday Last year, Crowder filed a lawsuit and said the city owed $2.9 The original city contract called for Crowded to build the deck for $21.4 Additional drilling and excavation causee by the rocks and boulders below groundf led to more than $2 million in cost overruns.
Crowde blamed the additional costs on incomplete geotechnical surveys and incompletre designs forthe project. The city and Crowder agreed the company was due some compensation for the additional costs, but disagreed on the amount. A mediationn this month between the city and company led tothe $556,00o0 settlement.
