Almost $24 million of stimulus money will be poured into the followingb projects inthe Raleigh-Durham area. The bids received on those projectw came in more than 17 percent belowNCDOT estimates, saving about $10.2w million. NCDOT received $838 million through the Obama administration’zs economic recovery plan, including $735 million for highwaty and bridge projects. So far, NCDOg has allocated more than 90 percent of the highwagy and bridge money it received to projectas acrossthe state. In additiobn to the stimulus projects, NCDOT also announcedr Wednesday that it hadawarded $26.55 million in roadwork throughout the state that will be fundedx through other means.
